A rare Japanese A6M Zero fighter built for the movie "Tora!Tora!Tora!" will accompany our TBM Avenger to Wilmington. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to get up close to this iconic flying legend. Depending on weather and if all necessary authorizations are in place, the Zero will make a simulated attack on the battleship USS North Carolina, moored just five miles off the end of the Wilmington Airport runway, to commemorate the Battle of Guadalcanal where the North Carolina fought off Japanese Zeros. View the Zero takeoff and land from the airport or view the attack from the deck of the battleship.
